New Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church

A CHURCH THAT'S ON THE MOVE FOR JESUS CHRIST

Meet Pastor Rubin I

REV. SHULTON L. RUBIN I

I was called to preach in December of 2000, while under the leadership of Dr. Frank E. Ray, Sr. of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church.  As a visionary of the Lord, God commissioned me to be a shepherd of His flock. As of January 1, 2005, I became the pastor and founder of New Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church, where we are temporarily located at the Airport Inn, 1441 E. Brooks Rd. (Main Ballroom). We are presently in the process of building the Lord a church at the corner of Holmes and Weaver Rd where the Lord will enlarge our territory, “For we are a church that’s on the move for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”.

Why do you minister?

I minister because the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, He has anointed me to preach good tidings to the meek, He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captive and the opening of prison to them that are bound.  I minister because I know what God can do.  God took a young man that was headed nowhere with nothing and turned him around.  God gave him a free gift of eternal life and placed him on a path to salvation, and that young man was me, so, I must tell others about how God saves and set free.

What do you like to read?

I like the literacy of the Word of God (the Bible), because when reading the bible that allows the Lord to talk to me and direct my path.  I also like to read inspirational books that coincide with the Word of God, such as: ‘365 Days In The Presence of The Lord’ and ‘A Cure For A Troubled Heart’, author: Dr. Frank E. Ray, Sr. and ‘Anointed Expository Preaching’, author: Stephen F. Olford.

What is the best advice you have ever gotten?

The best advice I’ve received is to keep your eye on the prize, which is Jesus Christ and you ought to obey God rather than man because obedience is better than sacrifice.

What inspires you?

The Holy Spirit inspires me because He teaches comfort and guides me, He strengthens me when I am weak and builds me up when I’m torn down.  He gives me the added strength I need to go on.

People may be surprised that I, an outcast, one who have been thrown away by the world would be chosen and ordained by the Lord to preach His unsearchable richest to a dying world that they may be saved.
