wine making london
Which is the best dessert grape to plant outside in the London area?

I want to plant a grape vine for fruit that will ripen out in the open rather than under glass. For eating, not for wine making. Have you grown anything that you can recommend, and do you have any tips on how to plant it.

the name is “Rembrandt ” its a blondie and a very sweet taste, pits are small.

I live under the smoke of Rotterdam ( Netherlands) and my Rembrandt does very good, small grapes the second year, after that it runs on its own, do not forget to chalk a little every year and water every day whet there’s no rain.
A young Rembrandt cost about Euro 8,=
If you re plant it ( could happen) you loose a year of grapes, after that year grapes come back again.
Of course plant against a fence and as much sun as possible. with Rembrandt you cannot go wrong.
When the grapes show up take out the newly fresh leaves, use the nails of you index finger and thumb to cut them out, or sharp scissors , so Rembrandt will grow broad instead of high and can give the juices to the grapes instead of the new leaves.
I wish you success !!
